Description

Each page features a winsome young lady in a charmingly provocative, full-color pose. These bound calendars were produced by Esquire for its gentlemen clientele, who doubtless found them a delight to consult—all year long. The 8-1/2 x 12", 12-page calendars are seldom found in their intact form as offered here, since their design enabled the artistic illustrations to be removed and displayed as stand-alone works of beauty. The items show generally mild circulation at the pages' edges and corners; images feature NM or better display quality except as noted. The quartet includes:

1948 - Titled "Glamour Gallery," staple-bound, 12 pin-up pages plus outer covers. Artwork by Joe De Mers, Ben-Hur Baz, Fritz Willis, Al Moore, J. Frederick Smith and Ron Wicks.

1949 - 12 paper pages plus cardboard back page, bound with two coiled plastic loops at top edge. Top page (January, 1949) shows light attic toning. Artwork by Al Moore.

1950 - 12 paper pages plus cardboard back page, bound with two coiled plastic loops at top edge. Top page (January, 1950) shows moderate attic toning and a couple of blemishes. Artwork by Al Moore.

1951 - 12 glossy paper pages plus cardboard back page, bound with two coiled plastic loops at top edge. Top page (January, 1950) shows moderate attic toning and a couple of blemishes. Artwork by Al Moore.
