The American League took a hiatus for "Cy Young Day" on August 13, 1908. Instead of the regularly scheduled games, only Young and his fellow Red Sox took the field against a team of A.L. All Stars (included Keeler, Chase and Chesbro) before an overflow crowd at the Huntington Avenue Grounds. The sender of this postcard was there. "I took in the game for Cy Young yesterday," he writes. "The game was a fine [one] but the fun & the interesting part came before the game & then the presentations to Cy. You probably read the accounts in the papers. The Boston Americans are certainly playing great ball these days. Love to Fat Alice." Postmarked 8/14/08 from Boston, the postcard measures 3-1/2 x 5-1/2", rates VG and features a mid-delivery action image captioned "Cy. Delivering the Goods."
