Halfback Jim Crowley was considered the most talented of the legendary backfield, and he was also the last surviving member, passing away in 1986 at the age of 83. An accomplished coach, Crowley guided Fordham and its famed defensive line—the Seven Blocks of Granite. His bright-blue ("9") signature appears on a 13x16 display with a January 10, 1956 letter written to Dr. D. B. Shulman on Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission letterhead. Comes with a full photo LOA from JSA.

The letter reads:

Dear Doctor:

Just a note to thank you for the delicious ham that my family devoured with great delight over the holidays. You may be sure that from now on you have an added booster for your wonderful product I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you personally real soon.

Kindest regards,

James H. Crowley
