Graded Fair 1.5 by PSA. The offered 1909-11 T206 White Borders Hal Chase (Blue Portrait) with a Broad Leaf 350 Subjects advertising reverse is the only example of this pose at the grading level with none better. For reference, Huggins & Scott offered the only other confirmed copy of the player/pose and brand in December 2014. The PSA Poor 1 copy with significant reverse paper loss sold for $3,000 before buyer’s premium. This particular specimen presents quite nicely for the technical grade. Despite a fleck of surface paper loss, an additional browned upper edge and horizontal creasing spanning Chase’s uniform, the illustration of the turn-of-the-century star is not seriously affected. While reverse paper loss is noticeable near the bottom of the reverse, the text confirming the elusive brand remains bold and attractive. Currently ranked by T206Resource.com as the ninth most difficult advertising back.
