Description

Comedic icon Larry Fine (d.1975) is the endorser of the offered single-page letter (with envelope). The neatly inscribed correspondence is dated 1973 and details Fines’ troubles in the hospital in relation to answering fan mail requests and a book that he was composing at the time. The nearly 8x6 ephemera displays (“9”) strength and clarity and is neatly written out in script. Comes with a full photo LOA from JSA.

The full letter reads:

Dear Keith,

Your letter received and am enclosing the only pictures I have. Since I have been at the Hospital here, I have received over 600 letters and requests or pictures, so you can see what a problem it is for me. I wrote a book while I was here. It is called “A Stroke of Luck” It is all about my life as one of the three stooges. I hope it will answer all the questions my fans have been asking me all these years. It also contains over 120 rare and collectible item photos from our pictures, any with Curly and Shemp. It will be published about August 15th and will not be sold in bookstores, but only by mail order. So if you would like to buy the book here how you can get it. Send $7.95 in check or money order to Larry P.O. Box 313, Hollywood California 90028. In California, add 6% sales tax or 47 cents. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Larry Fine
