The columned Greek structure that brought football to Charm City went by several names—Venable Stadium, Municipal Stadium, Baltimore Municipal Stadium, Baltimore Stadium and, more often than not, The Stadium. It ultimately played host to Army-Navy games, minor-league Orioles contests, and early Colts games. Offered here is a very rare debut ticket (GD) that explicitly states "OPENING OF THE BALTIMORE STADIUM" and that granted entry to the "MARINE SIDE" of the Army vs. Marines game. Rarer still is the 2-foot felt usher's sash (EX-MT) that has perfectly intact applique lettering of "STADIUM USHER / DEC. 2nd 1922." The Opening Day stadium scene pictured here is for reference only and not included with the lot.
