A pair of precious pre-code issues surfaces, in the form of these (2) 1940s super-hero comics. Books from this period are scarce commodities, and these hardy survivors have stood the test of time to report in decent collectible condition, with: 

1948 Hillman Periodicals Airboy Comics Vol. 5, #11 presents (FR-GD) due to a 1-1/2 x /2" section of loss on the back cover, at the bottom of the spine. This condition does not affect the front cover, which shows VG details;

1949 Quality Comics Doll Man #23 is also technically (FR-GD) due to a 1 x 1/2" triangle of loss on the back cover, at the bottom corner opposite the spine edge, while the front cover remains appealing, showing VG details.
